What is Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Marketing?

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Marketing is a type of online marketing where advertisers may bid for ads that will appear above or below the search engine results pages (SERPs) for their desired keywords. Usually, the highest bidder for a certain keyword will be placed at the top of the SERPs. However, other factors may affect your ad performance including the quality of the landing page. Take note that advertisers will only be charged when a user click on the ad (hence, pay per click).

How much will I pay if someone clicks on my ad?

Each time a user clicks on your ad, you will pay a fee based on your bid price on the specific keyword or term searched by the user and eventually clicked on. Usually, you will have to put a maximum Cost-Per-Click (CPC) bid or the highest amount you are willing to play for a single click, and a Daily budget. The amount of bids will vary depending on the industry. There are minimum bids that can start at 1 peso or it can go as high as 1,000 thousand pesos. Your maximum daily budget is your threshold and you will never pay more than that.

Where will my ads appear?

The major search engines are Google and Bing/Yahoo!. Google still has the higher market share. If you want to avail of social media advertising, Facebook is still the top social media based on market share. We can discuss where you want your advertisement to appear.

Are there other fees that we should know of?

There are no setup fees and no hidden charges.

Why would I pay to appear in search engine results?

SEO may take some time and it is more difficult to accomplish and no one can guarantee your placement. In PPC, your ad will be immediately visible on the SERPs. It is cost-effective because you are only paying when someone clicks on your ad.

Why use Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Marketing?

Many advertisers use PPC because it is measurable, scalable, flexible, easier and faster than SEO, it engages users, it converts into sales/revenues for your business, it could complement your other marketing efforts, and your competitors are most likely using it.

What type of businesses should be using PPC and why?

Almost every business should be using one form of online marketing. Businesses that will benefit especially from PPC are businesses with:

  • High customer lifetime values like doctors, dentists, education, internet and cable providers.
  • High margin like repairmen, lawyers, seller of high-priced items like cars and appliances.
  • Hard-to-find products as people more often than not order online than look for in brick-and-mortar shops.
  • Wide range of products like eBay, Target, Amazon, malls, department stores, etc.
  • Seasonal products like florist and gift shops.

Whatever your business is, we are sure that you should take advantage of online marketing including PPC.
